RAINBOW FLAG AWARD

As part of our academy ethos to “provide an inspirational and inclusive teaching and learning environment” where no child is left behind and all are nurtured and encouraged to interact with others, we are extremely proud to have been re-awarded in July 2021, the rainbow flag award.

The Rainbow Flag Award is a national quality assurance framework for primary schools, secondary schools, SEND schools and colleges. The award focuses on positive LGBT+, (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, plus other related identities), inclusion and visibility.

As an academy we have developed our positive LGBT+ inclusion in the 6 key areas within the award:

• Skilled Teacher
• Supportive Governors and Parents
• Effective Policies
• Inclusive Curriculum
• Pastoral Support
• Student Voice

We have been fully certified in all of these areas, developing our LGBT+ inclusion across the academy to the highest standard.
